CM Beacon Orthopedics Welcome to Clinton-Massie High School’s Sports Medicine page. Our sports medicine team of Dr. Nicole Goddard, Dr. George Matic and Head Athletic Trainer Matt Davis are all employed by Beacon Orthopedics. Our team provides a complete range of sports medicine services, including: injury prevention & care, physician referral, medical imaging and diagnosis, and rehabilitation. Dr. Goddard: Nicole Goddard, DO | Board Certified Osteopath Wilmington & Sharonville Dr. Goddard specializes in Primary Care Sports Medicine and has worked professional, collegiate, and high school athletes. Her goal is to provide the most advanced sports medicine care to patients, and get them back to full health and confidence. George Matic, M.D. practices Primary Care Sports Medicine and non-operative Orthopaedics at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He is fellowship trained in Primary Care Sports Medicine at The Ohio State University and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Wright State University earning Resident of the Year honors. Dr. Matic has special interests in treating endurance athletes and ultrasound-guided injections, orthobiologics such as platelet injections (platelet injections) and percutaneous tenotomy (Tenex) procedures and concussion impact testing. He has also been published in peer reviewed journals six times and presented research at the national conferences of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), Mid-America Orthopaedic Association (MAOA), Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC), Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), and the Cap City Sports Medicine Symposium. He has served as a team physician for the Cincinnati Reds, The Ohio State University, Columbus Clippers (the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians), Capital University, University of Dayton, Wright State University and Olentangy and Beavercreek High Schools. At Ohio State, he treated many athletes and provided medical coverage for Ohio State football, volleyball, cross country, track and field, rowing, swimming and diving, ice hockey and wrestling. Dr. Matic earned his medical doctorate, master’s and bachelor degrees from The Ohio State University where he received numerous honors and scholarships including the Miriam & Stanley Schwartz Jr. Scholarship in Medicine, Dr. Edward R. Rinaldi Medical Scholarship and Landacre Honor Society Membership. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, and recently participated in the 100-mile Pelotonia ride for cancer research and 80-mile Pedal with Pete ride for cerebral palsy research.
