Varsity Baseball tops Blanchester in Scrimmage

Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon Beat Blanchester Varsity Wildcats By GameChanger Media Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon were triumphant over Blanchester Varsity Wildcats 7-4 on Friday. A single by Corey Frisch put Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon on the board in the top of the first. A single by Zach Carter extended the Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning. Blanchester Varsity Wildcats took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Cooper Reynolds, and Braxton Short. Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon took the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Blanchester Varsity Wildcats committed an error, and Colton Fite doubled to center field, each scoring two runs. Ryan Anderson pitched three innings in relief for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon. The pitcher gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) while, striking out one and walking two. Andrew Smith stepped on the hill first for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Short opened the game for Blanchester Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher allowed six hits and seven runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking four. Fite set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon with two hits in three at bats. Anderson and Peyton Warren each stole multiple bases for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon. Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Short provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Blanchester Varsity Wildcats with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Easton Wiley, Blanchester Varsity Wildcats's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcon welcome New Richmond on Tuesday for their next game.
