By GameChanger Media Alyssa Sandlin drove in six runs on three hits to lead Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons past Cincinnati Christian Varsity Cougars 13-3 on Monday at Clinton-Massie High School. Sandlin hit a home run to right field in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two. Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons won thanks in part to nine runs in the third inning. Sandlin homered to right field, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, Alexis Dingman singled, scoring one run, Shae Simmons singled, scoring one run, Izzy Penewit singled, scoring one run, and Sandlin singled, scoring two runs. Cincinnati Christian Varsity Cougars opened the scoring in the first after Jalyn Cole tripled, scoring two runs. Kalli Jodrey earned the win for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons. The pitcher gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Cole took the loss for Cincinnati Christian Varsity Cougars. The pitcher went four and one-third innings, surrendering 13 runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out two and walking six. Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons piled up 11 hits in the game. Penewit and Dingman each collected multiple hits for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons. Ava Crombie paced Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Cole led Cincinnati Christian Varsity Cougars with one run batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-2 on the day.
