Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons fell to Wilmington Varsity Lady Cane 6-2 on Wednesday at Clinton-Massie High School. A single by Allie Martin put Wilmington Varsity Lady Cane on the board in the top of the first. A double by Martin extended the Wilmington Varsity Lady Cane lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning. Lauren Diels homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh for the Wilmington Varsity Lady Cane. Diels earned the win for Wilmington Varsity Lady Cane. The starter gave up seven hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Kalli Jodrey took the loss for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons. The pitcher went seven innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits, striking out 12 and walking five. Izzy Penewit led Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Madi Brinck and Alyssa Sandlin each drove in one run for Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons.
