CLINTON-MASSIE — A fast start and a clutch performance from Corey Frisch propelled the Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons to a 15-7 victory over the New Richmond Varsity Lions on Monday. Frisch delivered when it mattered most, driving in four runs on two key hits. He got the Falcons rolling early with a two-run single in the first inning, then added a two-run double in the fourth to help keep Clinton-Massie in control. The Falcons wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for eight runs in the opening inning. Jackson Doyle started the scoring with an RBI single, followed by a hit-by-pitch to Ryan Anderson that brought in another run. Frisch’s two-run single highlighted the rally, while Noah Gorman, Will Creech, Colton Fite, and Andrew Smith all contributed RBIs to cap off the explosive inning. Clinton-Massie added to its lead in the third inning when Fite doubled to center field to plate another run. New Richmond responded with a strong fourth inning, scoring six runs on six hits to cut into the deficit. Lane Young led the charge with a two-run single, while Wyatt Elam, Dallas Klinker, and Blake Wallace each added RBI hits during the rally. Despite the Lions’ push, the Falcons maintained control behind a solid outing on the mound from Andrew Smith. The right-hander earned the win, pitching 6⅔ innings while allowing seven runs on nine hits. He struck out seven and walked four. Zach Carter came on in relief to help secure the victory. At the plate, Clinton-Massie tallied 14 hits in a balanced offensive effort. Smith led the way, going 3-for-5. Fite, Aiden Clark, Doyle, and Creech each recorded multiple hits, while Peyton Warren added speed on the bases with two stolen bases. New Richmond finished with nine hits, led by Lane Young, who drove in three runs from the seventh spot in the lineup. Young and Lucas Sheppard each recorded two hits, and the Lions played a clean game defensively, turning one double play without committing an error. Clinton-Massie will look to carry the momentum into its next matchup on Tuesday as the Falcons travel to face the Blanchester Wildcats.
