CLINTON-MASSIE — The Clinton-Massie Varsity Falcons put together a strong offensive showing but were unable to keep pace with a high-powered New Richmond lineup, falling 15-7 on Monday at Clinton-Massie High School. New Richmond wasted no time taking control of the game, erupting for five runs in the top of the first inning. Gracie Seibert sparked the early surge with a two-run single, followed by an RBI triple from Olivia Miller, a run-scoring double by Morgan Catron, and an RBI single from Angel Arthur. The Lions added another run in the second inning on a fielder’s choice by Molly Greeson to extend the lead to 6-2. Clinton-Massie responded offensively and kept things competitive, but New Richmond capitalized on key moments — including a dropped third strike in the third inning that allowed another run to score, pushing the lead to 7-5. New Richmond created separation late, breaking the game open with a five-run seventh inning. Annabelle Kellum delivered a two-run double, Addi Jackson followed with an RBI single, and Greeson capped the inning with a two-run single. Greeson earned the win in the circle for the Lions, allowing just two runs on six hits over five innings while striking out 10 and walking one. Ava Crombie took the loss for the Falcons, pitching 6⅓ innings with nine strikeouts. Clinton-Massie tallied 10 hits in the contest, led by Izzy Penewit, Shae Simmons, and Alyssa Sandlin, who each recorded two hits. Sandlin drove in three runs to pace the Falcons’ offense. New Richmond finished with 16 hits on the night. Seibert led the charge with a four-hit performance, while Miller, Rachel Perry, Kellum, Arthur, and Jackson each added multiple hits. Greeson contributed three RBIs from the middle of the lineup. Clinton-Massie will look to bounce back on Wednesday when the Falcons return home to face Greeneview.
