Clinton-Massie Track & Field Seniors Honored as County Quad Cut Short by Weather

The Clinton-Massie High School Boys and Girls Track and Field teams competed in the Clinton County Quad last night, but the meet was ultimately suspended due to weather and will not be finished. Despite the early end to competition, the night remained meaningful as the Falcons community took time to celebrate its senior class and their impact on the program. Senior Night provided an opportunity to recognize the dedication, leadership, and lasting contributions of this group. These athletes have helped shape the culture of Clinton-Massie Track & Field through years of hard work, resilience, and team-first commitment. Senior Honorees Included: Olivia Carpenter – A six-year track athlete competing in the 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay, and long jump. She plans to attend the University of Cincinnati to study marketing. Paige Oberweiser – A six-year thrower specializing in discus and shot put, planning to study Biology of Animals (Pre-Vet) at the University of Cincinnati. Alyssa Shockley – A five-year sprinter and relay runner who plans to pursue forensic science in college. Ellie Smith – A six-year thrower specializing in discus and shot put, planning to study Health Sciences (Pre-Physical Therapy) at the University of Cincinnati. Chase Malatt – A five-year hurdler and jumper who plans to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Zander Mills – A six-year standout in pole vault, high jump, and hurdles, planning to become an aircraft mechanic. Daniel Norman – A two-year sprinter who plans to attend The Ohio State University to study Forestry. Carson Sheldon – A multi-event athlete in sprints and jumps who plans to pursue entrepreneurship. Alex Sherman – A four-year thrower specializing in shot put and discus with plans in law enforcement or the military. Andrew Smith – A jumper and relay contributor who plans to play football and study sports management at Mount St. Joseph University. From bus rides and team traditions to record-breaking performances and personal milestones, this senior class leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond the track. Though the meet did not reach its conclusion, the night served as a reminder that the true measure of a program is found in its people. Clinton-Massie proudly celebrates these seniors and thanks them for everything they have given to Falcon Track & Field. It was shaping up to be a tremendous night for the Falcons. With strong performances across the board and multiple personal bests being recorded, momentum was clearly building before storms forced an early end. On the girls side, Clinton-Massie was sitting in 1st place with seven events left to be scored, highlighting just how dominant the team had been throughout the evening. Girls Top Performers: 1st Place Finishes: Olivia Carpenter – 100-meter dash Julia Reardon – High Jump Olivia Carpenter – Long Jump Paige Oberweiser – Discus Azlynn Green – Shot Put 2nd Place Finishes: 4x800 Relay (Jillian Arledge, Haley Zeller, Lilian Zimmerman, Allie Roberts) Ava Davis – 100-meter hurdles 4x200 Relay (Rosie Hall, Ava Paytes, Sarah Russell, Allie Roberts) Rosie Hall – Long Jump Azlynn Green – Discus Ava Paytes – Pole Vault 3rd Place Finishes: Jillian Arledge – 1600-meter run Azlynn Green – High Jump Kailey Wax – Shot Put The boys team was also in the middle of a strong showing before the meet was called. With 9 of 17 events scored, Clinton-Massie was competing well against a solid field. Team Scores (Partial): Wilmington: 56.5 Clinton-Massie: 35.5 East Clinton: 23 Blanchester: 21 Boys Top Performers: 1st Place Finishes: Zander Mills – 110-meter hurdles, Pole Vault 2nd Place Finishes: CJ Sheldon – Long Jump Caleb Werling – 1600-meter run 3rd Place Finishes: Alex Sherman – Shot Put Chase Malatt – 110-meter hurdles Zander Mills – High Jump 4x800 Relay (Ben McHale, Joey Sweet, Caden Patton, James Toller) The boys were putting together several personal best efforts and showing strong progress as the season continues.
