The Clinton-Massie High School Boys Track and Field team turned in a competitive performance at the Little Miami Invitational on Thursday night, finishing 5th out of 10 teams against a strong field of larger programs. Leading the way for the Falcons was standout athlete Zander Mills, who captured 1st place in the pole vault. Mills also added a 4th-place finish in the high jump and took 6th in the 110-meter hurdles, continuing his impressive all-around season. Clinton-Massie saw several other strong individual performances on the night. Chase Mallatt earned a 3rd-place finish in the triple jump, while Caleb Werling placed 5th in the 800-meter run and 6th in the 1600-meter run. CJ Sheldon contributed with a 6th-place finish in the long jump, and Kolton Ellis added another 6th-place effort in the pole vault. The Falcons’ relay teams also held their own, with the 4x1600, 4x800, and 4x100 throwers relays each securing 5th-place finishes. One of the highlights of the evening came from Clinton-Massie’s jumping group. Mills, Mallatt, Sheldon, and Ellis combined to score 27 team points across the pole vault, long jump, triple jump, and high jump events—an impressive showing that helped power the Falcons in the team standings. Overall, Clinton-Massie delivered a well-rounded performance, with strong contributions from the jumpers, distance runners, and hurdlers. Mills and Werling continued their consistent success this season, leading the charge for the Falcons. Clinton-Massie will return to action on Tuesday, May 5, as they travel to compete in the Springfield Shawnee Invitational.
