Oberweiser and Green Lead Falcons to Strong 4th Place Finish at Little Miami Invitational

The Clinton-Massie High School Girls Track and Field team delivered a strong performance at the Little Miami Invitational on Thursday night, finishing 4th out of 10 teams in a competitive field. The Falcons were led by standout efforts in the throwing events, as Paige Oberweiser captured 1st place in the discus and Azlynn Green claimed 1st place in the shot put, giving Clinton-Massie an early boost in the team standings. The Falcons also found success in relay competition, highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 4x100-meter Iron Women relay team of Oberweiser, Kailey Wax, Ellie Smith, and Green. Multiple relay teams contributed valuable points, including a 3rd place finish in the 4x800-meter relay (Jillian Arledge, Haley Zeller, Lilian Zimmerman, Allie Roberts) and another 3rd place showing from the 4x400-meter relay team of Ava Davis, Burton, Roberts, and Julia Reardon. In field events, Olivia Carpenter added to the Falcons’ scoring with a 3rd place finish in the long jump, while Sarah Russell placed 5th in the triple jump. Reardon added points in the high jump with a 6th place finish. Distance standout Jillian Arledge continued her consistent season, placing 5th in the 1600-meter run and 6th in the 3200-meter run, while Carpenter contributed across multiple sprint events, including a 7th place finish in the 200-meter dash and 8th in the 100-meter dash. Reardon also placed 8th in the 400-meter run, and Ava Paytes earned an 8th place finish in the pole vault. Additional relay contributions included a 4th place finish in the 4x100-meter relay (Hall, Davis, Burton, Carpenter) and a 6th place finish in the 4x200-meter relay (Hall, Paytes, Roberts, Reardon), showcasing the team’s depth across events. Despite competing through soreness, the Falcons continued to show toughness and determination, with athletes consistently setting personal records and stepping up to support the team effort. Clinton-Massie will return to action on Tuesday, May 5, as they travel to Springfield Shawnee for another invitational, looking to build on their momentum heading into league competition.
