Clinton-Massie Athletics is proud to partner with The Murphy Theater to help bring an important mental health awareness event, “Beyond the Bleachers,” to Wilmington and the surrounding communities. The event will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 6:00 PM at The Murphy Theater (50 W. Main Street, Wilmington, OH) and is free and open to the public. All SBAAC schools, families, coaches, and local community members are encouraged to attend. “Beyond the Bleachers” focuses on a critical question facing today’s communities: We encourage our kids to reach out to a trusted adult—but are we prepared for what comes next? This event is designed to help answer that question by equipping adults with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to respond when a young person reaches out for help. Attendees will experience a powerful evening featuring expert speakers, panel discussions, and practical take-home resources centered on mental health awareness and suicide prevention. The goal is to empower those who work closely with students—parents, educators, coaches, and community leaders—to better support youth both on and off the field. The event will feature a strong lineup of presenters, including: Tony Coder, CEO of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation Tori Morrison of the Ben Morrison Fund Jennifer McConnell of Mental Matters Kathleen Habedank of the Jonah Habedank Memorial Foundation Each presenter brings a unique perspective and a shared mission of reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and providing meaningful support for young people facing mental health challenges. Through this partnership, Clinton-Massie Athletics continues its commitment to supporting the total well-being of student-athletes—not just in competition, but in life. Events like “Beyond the Bleachers” reinforce the importance of building strong, informed support systems within our schools and communities.
