Clinton-Massie Varsity Baseball delivered a complete performance Monday night, powered by a dominant outing from Andrew Smith in a 7-0 win over Goshen. Smith was in total control from start to finish, tossing a complete game shutout while also leading the Falcons offensively. The right-hander set the tone early and never let Goshen find a rhythm, keeping their lineup off balance all game long. The Falcons wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the first inning, Smith helped his own cause by ripping a double that brought home the game’s first run. Clinton-Massie added to its lead in the second inning when Will Creech lifted a sacrifice fly, extending the advantage to 2-0. Smith continued to shine in the third inning, launching a solo home run to left field to push the lead to 3-0 and further energize the Falcons’ dugout. Clinton-Massie’s offense stayed consistent throughout the game, finishing with 11 total hits. Colton Fite, Corey Frisch, Aiden Clark, and Smith each recorded two hits, helping fuel the balanced attack. Smith and Noah Gorman each drove in two runs to lead the Falcons in RBIs. Defensively, the Falcons backed up their ace with solid play in the field, including turning a key double play to halt a Goshen scoring opportunity. Goshen’s Logan Crawford took the loss, pitching five innings while allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits, with two strikeouts and two walks. Charlie Hyden led the Warriors offensively with two hits in three at-bats. With the win, Clinton-Massie continues to build momentum as they prepare for their next matchup on the road at Franklin on Tuesday. A complete performance on the mound, at the plate, and in the field made this one all Falcons from the start.
