Clinton-Massie Middle School Girls Capture SBAAC Championship; Seven School Records Fall in Historic Season The Clinton-Massie Middle School Girls Track & Field team capped off a remarkable season by claiming the SBAAC Championship with 135 team points, finishing well ahead of New Richmond (75.5) and solidifying their place atop the league. The championship meet featured a historic moment, as the 4x100-meter girls relay team broke the school record with a time of 53.81, surpassing the previous mark of 54.1 set in 2011. It was just one of many highlights in what has been a truly unforgettable season for the Falcons. A Season for the Record Books According to Head Coach Kyle Rudduck, this year’s team didn’t just compete—they rewrote history. “Now, onto the season… 7, count them, SEVEN school records were set this year!! Crazy stat—collectively, those seven records had stood for more than 172 YEARS. That broke down as follows (and yes, I double checked my math!).” Girls Records Broken: Shot Put – 25 years (Chaylen Trampler) Pole Vault – 16 years (Josie Arledge) 400m Dash – 28 years (Nina McHale) 4x200 Relay – 39 years (Brea, Nina, Gabby, Ansley) 4x100 Relay – 15 years (Nina, Sophie, Ansley, Gabby) Boys Records Broken: 4x200 Relay – 23 years (Finn, Kolton, Carter, Creo) 4x100 Relay – 26 years (Finn, Kolton, Mason, Creo) Seven records. Over 172 combined years standing. All gone in one season. Championship-Level Performance The Falcons’ success wasn’t limited to one meet. Throughout the season, Clinton-Massie consistently competed—and won—against larger programs, including a standout showing at the Lebanon Invitational before finishing the job with a dominant league championship performance at Batavia. “To the girls team specifically, congratulations on a number of impressive team wins—notably against the much larger schools at the Lebanon Invitational, and capped off by a resounding league victory at Batavia last night,” Rudduck said. A Coach’s Perspective “Our boys team had been very close at a number of meets to breaking the 4x100 record, but we just couldn't quite get over the hump.” “Prior to the meet at Williamsburg, I approached Finn and asked him to switch spots on the relay team to come out of the blocks instead of running anchor… He told me he would really prefer to continue running anchor but was willing to make the switch if I thought it would help the team.” “That very next meet at Williamsburg, the 4x100 team shattered a 26-year-old record by half a second.” Full Clinton-Massie SBAAC Championship Results Girls Results 100 Meters 4th – Sophie Ashley (14.19) 11th – Ansley Doyle (14.35) 200 Meters 2nd – Gabrielle Scherz (29.11, PR) 7th – Tylar Engelhard (30.51) 400 Meters 🥇 1st – Nina McHale (1:01.51, PR) 12th – Clara Marsh (1:13.02) 800 Meters 6th – Grace Sizemore (2:49.28, PR) 9th – Emmett Burton (2:54.62, PR) 1600 Meters 12th – Jacalyn Sutherland (7:07.90, PR) 14th – Grace Brannum (7:48.63) 100m Hurdles 🥇 1st – Crosley Webb (18.31, PR) 16th – Blaze Harner (21.01, PR) 200m Hurdles 2nd – Crosley Webb (34.53) 9th – Brea Migal (36.69) Girls Relays 4x100 Relay 🥇 1st – 53.81 (NEW SCHOOL RECORD) (McHale, Ashley, Doyle, Scherz) 4x200 Relay 🥇 1st – 1:56.43 (McHale, Migal, Doyle, Scherz) 4x400 Relay 3rd – 4:57.24 (Walker, Arledge, Walbe, Engelhard) 4x800 Relay 5th – 11:56.06 (Walker, Cartner, Burton, Sizemore) Girls Field Events Shot Put 🥇 1st – Chaylen Trampler (34-02.50) 4th – Bethany Bazemore (28-05.50, PR) Discus 🥇 1st – Chaylen Trampler (88-03) 🥈 2nd – Bethany Bazemore (72-02, PR) High Jump 🥈 2nd – Jillian Walker (4-06, PR) Pole Vault 🥇 1st – Josie Arledge (7-00) Long Jump 🥈 2nd – Sophie Ashley (13-08.50) 11th – Tylar Engelhard (12-07.00) Boys Results 100 Meters 8th – Carter Harris (12.64) 12th – Mason Binder (12.80) 200 Meters 9th – Finn Murray (26.75, PR) 17th – Levi Crider (29.31, PR) 400 Meters 🥉 3rd – Kolton Rudduck (57.11, PR) 7th – Creo Haines (59.05) 800 Meters 19th – Kepler Heidenreich (2:47.61) 21st – Truitt Roosa (2:49.23) 1600 Meters 11th – Kepler Heidenreich (5:40.85, PR) 16th – Silas Roosa (5:50.03) 110m Hurdles 13th – Paxton Smith (20.73) 200m Hurdles 14th – Riley Randolph (34.04) 17th – Paxton Smith (34.62) Boys Relays 4x100 Relay 🥇 1st – 49.36 (Harris, Theskin, Binder, Murray) 4x200 Relay 🥇 1st – 1:42.51 (Harris, Rudduck, Murray, Haines) 4x400 Relay 🥇 1st – 3:58.93 (Binder, Theskin, Rudduck, Haines) 4x800 Relay 7th – 10:44.10 (Crider, Roosa, Roosa, Heidenreich) Boys Field Events Shot Put 12th – Christian Bennington (33-04.00, PR) 21st – Ryder Gibson (25-05.75) Discus 5th – Jaxon Jodrey (99-05) 6th – Christian Bennington (98-00, PR) Pole Vault 6th – Landon Keck (7-00) Long Jump 5th – Eli Theskin (16-07.50, PR)
