Clinton-Massie Girls Capture Team Title at Miller-Shilke Invitational at Springfield-Shawnee High School

The Clinton-Massie track and field teams turned in another impressive showing with multiple top-three finishes, personal records, and relay success throughout the meet. The Falcons were led by strong sprint performances, distance depth, hurdle success, and several standout efforts in the field events. Boys Highlights Carson Sheldon had an outstanding day for the Falcons, placing fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.95 and sixth in the 200-meter dash at 25.14. Andrew Smith also had a strong sprint day, finishing seventh in the 100-meter dash in a personal-best 12.02. In the middle-distance events, Caleb Werling led the way with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:08.75 and a fourth-place finish in the 1600-meter run at 5:04.76. Ben McHale added a seventh-place finish in the 800 meters, while James Toller placed seventh in the 1600 and fourth in the 3200-meter run. The Falcons were especially strong in the hurdles as Zander Mills placed third in the 110 hurdles with a personal-best 17.46 and fourth in the 300 hurdles at 45.33. Chase Malatt added ninth in the 110 hurdles and 11th in the 300 hurdles. Clinton-Massie’s relay teams continued to perform well: The 4x100 relay team of Zander Mills, Andrew Smith, Daniel Norman, and Carson Sheldon finished runner-up in 47.50. The 4x400 relay team of Chase Malatt, Ben McHale, Daniel Norman, and Carson Sheldon placed fourth in 4:03.15. The 4x800 relay squad of Ben McHale, Joey Sweet, James Toller, and Caleb Werling also earned fourth place with a time of 9:08.82. In the field events, Andrew Smith placed sixth in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 5-0 and seventh in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 17-7.75. Avery Kratzer finished 14th in discus, while Luke Hensley and Tyler Powell competed in the shot put. Girls Highlights Olivia Carpenter paced the Clinton-Massie girls team with another strong all-around performance. Carpenter finished runner-up in the 100-meter dash in 13.33, placed third in the 200-meter dash at 28.65, and added a sixth-place finish in the long jump. Rose Hall also placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best 14.33. The Falcons dominated the 400-meter run as Allie Roberts won the event in 1:07.96 and Julia Reardon followed closely behind in third place at 1:08.51. Distance runners also continued to shine. Jillian Arledge placed sixth in the 1600-meter run and earned runner-up honors in the 3200-meter run with a personal-best 13:55.82. Haley Zeller added a top-15 finish in the 1600 meters, while Lilian Zimmerman competed in the 800-meter run. The hurdles crew had another strong outing as Ava Davis finished fourth in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Macy Morgan also placed seventh in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles. The Clinton-Massie relay teams continued their success: The 4x100 relay team of Rose Hall, Bia Burton, Ava Davis, and Olivia Carpenter won the event in 54.59. The 4x400 relay team of Ava Davis, Bia Burton, Allie Roberts, and Julia Reardon placed second in 4:40.26. The 4x200 relay team of Rose Hall, Sarah Russell, Allie Roberts, and Julia Reardon finished fourth. The 4x800 relay squad of Jillian Arledge, Haley Zeller, Lilian Zimmerman, and Allie Roberts earned fifth place. In the throws, Azlynn Green placed second in the shot put and sixth in discus, while Kailey Wax earned third in the shot put. Paige Oberweiser added a runner-up finish in discus with a throw of 93-9. Julia Reardon captured the high jump title with a clearance of 4-8, and Destinee Drake also scored in the event with a seventh-place finish. Rose Hall and Olivia Carpenter both placed in the long jump as well.
