Big Third Inning Leads Clinton-Massie Junior Varsity Falcons Past Waynesville Junior Varsity Spartans

The Clinton-Massie Junior Varsity Falcons exploded for 11 runs in the third inning to power past the Waynesville Junior Varsity Spartans 17-6 on Monday at Clinton-Massie High School. The Falcons broke the game open in the bottom of the third with a relentless offensive attack. Lelind Stiles started the rally with a two-run double, followed by an RBI single from Jackson McGraw. Zach Carter added an RBI triple before Levi Davidson singled home another run. Kaiden Sherwood delivered a two-run double, and Stiles later added another RBI single. McGraw and Carter each drew bases-loaded walks, while Easton Vinup capped the inning with an RBI single. Waynesville struck first in the top of the opening inning after an error plated a run, but Clinton-Massie answered immediately in the bottom half. The Falcons scored six runs on four hits to take control of the game early, highlighted by a three-run single from Kenton Noggle. Carter earned the win on the mound for Clinton-Massie. The right-hander worked four innings, allowing five runs — three earned — on three hits while striking out five and walking four. Stiles appeared in relief for the Falcons. Owen took the loss for Waynesville after allowing 17 runs, 15 earned, on 12 hits over two and two-thirds innings while walking six batters. Clinton-Massie totaled 13 hits in the victory. Stiles drove in three runs from the ninth spot in the lineup and finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Noggle, Davidson, Will McCarty, McGraw, and Stiles each recorded two hits for the Falcons. McGraw also swiped two bases as Clinton-Massie continued to apply pressure offensively. The Falcons showed patience at the plate throughout the game, drawing six walks. Waynesville was led offensively by Skinner, who drove in two runs from the middle of the lineup. Ben Neu collected two hits and stole two bases for the Spartans, who finished with four stolen bases as a team. Clinton-Massie Junior Varsity Falcons will return to action Wednesday when they host the New Richmond Junior Varsity Lions.
